Litigation Legal Secretary (19862)

Job Description:

Growing Houston area law firm is looking for an expereinced Litigation Legal Secretary. 

 Responsibilities:

• Experience with high volume document production (both receiving production documents from multiple parties and producing documents in response to discovery requests), including organization, indexing, and labeling.

• Compile evidence and supporting information by searching records, discovery documents, transcripts, libraries, and databases.

• Manage files and documents from inception to trial/arbitration.

• Coordinate with support services and clients, opposing law firms, and courts.

• Calendar and track all discovery and various other deadlines.

• Correspond with clients and opposing law firms.

• Research and analysis of case issues, including expert articles.

• Communication of issues with experts and investigation and analysis of expert qualifications and experience, including prior transcripts, testimony and articles.

• Assist with trial preparation as necessary.

Qualifications:

• 3-5+ years’ experience on a construction defects docket and defense litigation.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and/or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred.

• Spanish proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking) preferred. 

• Above average proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.

• Strong analytical skills, as well as advanced oral and written communication skills are necessary.

• Strong time management and organizational skills with an ability to work in a high volume office and team environment are essential.
