Litigation Attorney (6067)

Job Description:

The Litigation Associate is an employee attorney admitted to practice in Texas who performs substantive legal functions in client matters, maintains positive contact with clients, observes confidentiality in client matters, participates in the firm's marketing efforts, and is responsible for client development. All work is performed under the supervision of a partner. The Litigation Associate should have 3 to 5 years of legal experience. The successful candidate will have advocacy experience in handling litigation matters, including preparing motions and legal documents, and handling discovery matters, along with other aspects of a litigation practice. Candidate must possess strong communication, research and writing skills.  Additionally, the candidate should have the ability to work independently and as part of a team and display excellent organization and prioritization skills.



Maintain membership in State Bar and complete all required Continuing Legal Education requirements on an annual basis;

· Follow ethical requirements as set forth by the Rules of Professional Conduct of the State and comply with all requirements of the firm's professional liability insurer;

· Apply analytical skills necessary to conduct complex and detailed analysis of legal matters;

· Demonstrate interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with a diverse group of clients, attorneys, and staff and provide information with courtesy and tact;

· Possess ability to travel to private and public entities locally and statewide to meet client needs on legal matters;

· Ability to commit to time in excess of 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position;

· Ability to supervise legal support staff;

· Ability to apply a high level of effort while organizing and prioritizing multiple tasks under time constraints; and

· Willingness to remain up to date with regard to technology and apply learned knowledge and training to the position.
