Accounting Manager

Job Description:

·         Coordination of monthly book closing and adjustments, fiscal year closing and adjustments, and all financial reporting of same.

·         Monitors and confirms financial condition by facilitating the audit process, providing information to external auditors.

·         Helps guide financial decisions through the establishment and maintenance of internal controls.

·         Oversees tax prep work of tax accountant, keeps appraised of current tax law. Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements through review of existing and new legislation.

·         Maintains accounting staff performance by coaching, counseling, monitoring and in some cases disciplining employees, followed up with (at least) annual appraisals of job performance.

·         Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

·         Assists other managers who are presented with accounting issues in their departments.

 

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications/requirements:

·        Outgoing, aggressive professional with manufacturing experience

·        BA degree, MA degree a plus

·        CPA certification a must

·        Tax Preparation and Reporting

·        Knowledge of recording journal entries and accruals into the general ledger as well as reconciliation of balance sheet accounts including but not limited to, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, intercompany accounts, various prepaid accounts, and cash

·        Report cash forecast and projections to parent company to properly reflect subsidiary’s financial status

·        Fiscal year-end closing with knowledge of consolidating financial reporting

·        Knowledge of Manufacturing Operations –  “How costs are accumulated and assigned to a job”

·        Cost, Inventory and Fixed Assets

·        Supervisory Skills (A/R – A/P), Office Skills, software experience working with Syteline, Excel, and Word
